American Express Platinum - a story of nonsenses PDF Print E-mail

This is what happens when you are a customer who has never been late on a payment for the last 7 years.

I tried to book tickets, using my AmEx Platinum, to go home for the holidays (NYC) . Everything was O.K. but there was a mistake saying that the charge was not approved from American Express. WTF?! Surprise, surprise I was shocked when the customer service representative told me what the reason was. Because I currently live abroad and do not use the card so often (I used it a few month ago for air ticket and I was fine) American Express allows me to put a charge up to 224 US dollars. Isn’t that funny, what the f*ck I can buy for 224 US dollars.

Hmmm, I am not sure what to think… Let me think for a minute… Oh, now I got it… mmm not really. I pay annual fee of 450 US dollars and I cannot use the card?! Who thought about this policy that if you do not use your card regularly they can limit it… That is twice lower that the annual fee. I wonder if I can ask for a refund of the annual fee because American Express is the one that do not allow me to use it… and I have already paid to use their service… Hmm, paying for what exactly? Status? No thanks, AmEx!

So, I was thinking that instead of learning a lesson from the financial crises in the last 18-20 months, the financial corporation are getting greedier and greedier trying to get some profit fast… we all saw what happens to them if they do not stop when they should.
